Eid Al Adha
at first light.
Photographed before sunrise on the dunes outside Ras Al Khaimah — the family in their best, the morning of the day.
The morning of Eid Al Adha begins quietly. Before the prayer, before the sacrifice, before the long day of family — there is a half-hour of stillness. The ironing board is already out. The kandora has been starched. The boys, somehow, are awake. The grandmother has decided everyone will be photographed.
This is the wardrobe for that morning. Whites for the men, soft golds for the women, a careful crispness across the children — every piece chosen so that, at first light, the family is ready.
White, on white, on white.
Egyptian cotton, a clean round collar, a single chest pocket. The Khaleeji uniform of the formal morning — and the uniform of the day when the camera comes out.

“We come to the prayer the way we enter a clean house.”
A small mirror of his father.
The boys' wizar in plain cotton, the t-shirt smooth under it, the pajama set folded on the bed for the long afternoon ahead.

A premium set, a careful bow.
The Eid set in soft cream, with the matching pajama for the long afternoon at the grandmother's house.

“In the end, what stays is the photograph.”
